Attorney Randy Turner, Animal Advocate

About Attorney Randy Turner

Deeply committed to civic involvement and community engagement, attorney Randy Turner has devoted his life and legal career to public service. Randy Turner completed law school at the St. Mary’s University School of Law in 1980, where he became a member of the John M. Harlan Society, earned first place in the school’s annual mock trial competition, and received three American Jurisprudence Awards. In February 1980, Turner passed the Texas State Bar Examination, earning the fifth highest score in the state for that examination period. Upon earning Texas State Bar membership, Randy Turner co-founded the legal partnership of Russell & Turner, LLP, for which he successfully practiced law for nearly 30 years. In 2008, Randy Turner left Russell & Turner to spearhead Turner & McKenzie, PC, a Hurst, Texas-based partnership specializing in civil litigation, where he focuses his efforts on the practice of personal injury law and animal law. A former President of the Tarrant Trial Lawyers Association, Randy Turner volunteers as an attorney for organizations including the Companion Animal Protection Society, the Animal Guardians of America, and Animal Angels.

Committed to mentoring the next generation of lawyers, Randy Turner has served as a pro bono attorney supervisor and mock trial judge for students at the Texas Wesleyan University School of Law and as an Adjunct Professor of Business Law at Texas Christian University. Randy Turner also donates his time as volunteer to Earthwatch, an international environmental nonprofit, for which he has worked on animal rehabilitation and conservation projects in such locations as Borneo, Indonesia, and Zimbabwe. Locally, Randy Turner has helped improve his community as an Assistant Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 326, a Habitat for Humanity home sponsor and worker, and a Board Member and pilot for Fly the Kids, Inc. Board certified in civil trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Randy Turner is licensed to practice before the Supreme Courts of Texas and Colorado, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
